How long does it take to process my application?

We aim to approve your application within 24 hours. As long as all your compliance documents are up to date, you'll be ready to start right away.

Is there a cost to register with Precision Placements?

No – registration is completely free!

When will I get paid?

You'll receive payment directly into your bank account on the last working day of each month.

How much will I be paid?

Nurses starting rate is £18.00 per hour. Dentists and hygenists set their own rate of pay.

  • - After completing 60 shifts, the nurses rate increases to £19.00 per hour.
  • - After 180 shifts, nurses earn £20.00 per hour.

Does Precision Placements take a commission from my pay?

No, we do not deduct anything from your pay. We charge a separate daily rate to the practice.

Will I be paid for travel or mileage?

Yes. If you're travelling more than 20 miles and driving, you will be reimbursed for mileage beyond the 20-mile threshold.

What happens if I cancel a job within 18 hours?

Your reliability score will drop by 10%.

  • - If your score falls below 80%, it may affect your ability to receive job offers.
  • - A score below 70% will result in account deactivation.
  • - If you do not show up for a shift (a 'no-show'), your score drops by 20%.

Can I improve my reliability score?

Yes – successfully completing 10 consecutive jobs without cancellations will boost your reliability score by 10%.

How do I accept a job?

You'll receive a text message and email when a practice posts a job.

Details will include the practice name, distance, shift times, pay, and other important info.

You can then accept or decline the job at your discretion.

How do I submit my timesheet?

No paperwork required – timesheets are fully digital.

You'll receive a reminder by text and email on the morning of your shift, including a link to complete your timesheet for that day.

How does the booking request system work?

We use advanced AI technology to match nurses with practices based on key factors like distance, reliability, and skillset – ensuring the best fit for both parties.

Can I choose where I work?

Absolutely. Set your preferred travel radius and you'll only receive job notifications within that area. You have full control and are never assigned jobs without your consent.

Can I work for other practices or agencies too?

Yes – you are free to work with other practices or locum agencies. You're in complete control of your schedule.

Can trainee or apprentice dental nurses work with Precision Placements?

Unfortunately not. You must hold a valid GDC registration number to work with us.

What if a practice cancels a booking at the last minute?

If a practice cancels with less than 18 hours' notice, you'll receive 100% of the booking fee.

Can practices leave feedback after a shift?

Yes. After each shift, practices are asked to rate you based on five key areas:

  1. Punctuality – Did the locum arrive on time?
  2. Appearance – Was the locum's appearance professional?
  3. Attitude – Was the locum positive and cooperative with the team?
  4. Value – Did the locum offer good value for the hourly rate?
  5. Rehire Potential – Would the practice book this locum again?

How can I get a copy of my GDC certificate?

  1. Visit https://www.egdc-uk.org
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Click on ‘Certificate of Registration'
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select ‘Print'
  5. Download and save the certificate to your device
